‘Worth its weight in gold. Really comprehensive guide and companion if you're considering working in Africa. No stone is left unturned as the book describes what you should consider if you want to work in Africa. Wherever you are on the spectrum, this is a great book to explain everything you need to know.
It's a meaty enough book that gives you plenty of food for thought as to what consider before moving to work in Africa. So even if you think you know Africa, it's worth getting just to be sure you've thought of everything.
The tone of the book is spot on too. It isn't too descriptive but light and engaging enough to tell you almost everything you need to know. It is also relevant and current and has many good links and adverts for services and things that can actually help you.’
‘The indispensable pocket guide to working in Africa. An excellent step by step guide to those who are looking to work in the continent of the future. Africa is rising, with some of the fastest growing economies in the world, providing the bold and adventurous with numerous opportunities. Frances Williams helps you navigate the opportunities in what sometimes remains a difficult and challenging environment. She asks the hard questions challenges you to prepare yourself before you set out - what do you really want? What skills and expertise do you offer? Are you prepared to adapt? Do you have a support mechanism in place? She then outlines the dos and don’ts before suggesting some of the industries (Telco’s, Marketing, Banking and Finance) with the best opportunities.
This is an excellent and indispensable pocket guide to working in Africa. Don't head to Africa without it…’
